Bra Buying Guide Women
Go BackBackGo Back

Many of us spend countless hours trying on the latest fashion; working to get the best fit possible, but when it come to bras, we have trouble finding a bra that fits right. Bra sizes seem to change depending on style, brand, and production run. Your bra size can also change as your body changes; weight loss and gain, muscle tone, hormonal changes, pregnancy, and nursing all change the way your bra fits.

Below are some tips when getting physical fitted for a bra.

  1. Take measurements: this can easily be done in the comfort of your own home before heading to your favorite store.
  2. Name Brand: There are some great off brand bra companies out there, but you will be better off sticking to a high quality name brand bra.
  3. Take your time: Don't rush something as important as your daily comfort.
  4. Comfort and Support: If looking good is what your after by all means pick out the one that looks the best. But for daily wear, always choose comfort and support over looks!
  5. A Proper Fit: Make sure the bra fits right! Cup size is very important; you should fill them out, but the breast should not spill over. (not too small, but not too big)The back of your bra provides most of the support, so ovoid the “Baggy Back”; the fit should be firm, but comfortable. Seamless bras do not provide the same amount of support as bras with seams; stick with the seams for better overall support. Give underwire a chance; cups without underwire do not provide proper support in larger breast sizes; it can be hard to find a comfortable underwire bra, but it is worth the try. Avoid bras that bind & compress your breast; sports bras, and minimizing bras can cause a loss of firmness in breast over time.

Buy a bra over the internet or mail order.

  1. Take measurements: this can easily be done in the comfort of your own home. After you are sure of your measurements, try on some bras and find out what fits your body type the best. Measurements are a place to start, but they are not full proof. Everyone's body is different, and you should find what works best for you. I recommend trying out a variety of brands, and styles physicaly at your favorite store; once you know what works for you, then you can surf the net for the best deals.

  2. Name Brand: There are some great off brand bra companies out there, but you will be better off sticking to a high quality name brand bra.

  3. Take your time: Check out different online companies and see what they have to offer.
